New York, NY, SPRING 2021—The American artist Michael Aram, renowned for his handcrafted, nature-inspired home décor and sculpture, introduces his newest collection for 2021, Golden Ginkgo.
INSPIRATION BEHIND THE COLLECTION
The Golden Ginkgo Collection takes its inspiration from the intricacies of form and texture found in foliage from around the world. By interpreting plant forms in cast metal, Aram presents work which is evocative of a natural environment transformed and redefined.
“These pieces have wonderfully undulating leaves, which create an almost rococo surface of playful, delicate, and intricate forms. By combining the individual sculpted leaves, the natural forms join to create a complex patterning. I’ve tried to capture that sense of movement and fragility in metal,” said Founder and CEO Michael Aram.

ABOUT MICHAEL ARAM
Michael Aram creates beautiful and distinctive objects for the home. After taking a life-altering trip to India in 1989 where he discovered rich metalworking traditions, Aram turned his artistic vision towards craft-based design, setting up a home and workshop in New Delhi.
Most recognized for his signature metal gift and tabletop offerings, Aram also designs large-scale sculptures, furniture, lighting, home fragrance, textiles, porcelain and fine jewelry. Aram splits his time between his workshop in India and his New York City studio. His work is sold in over 60 countries, Flagship stores in NYC, LA and Miami, as well as national department stores and specialty retailers.
